Spring Annual Events
Traditional Spring Celebration with a Community Feast. Annual Fishing Derby’s held spring, summer, fall and winter (Gifts/Cash Prizes) for Youth/Adults/Children. It is an incentive for people to participate as a family and to include their children.
Participants go upland for five days to Weaver Lake for camping, life skills and other recreational activities. This also includes a Survival Camp.
Summer Annual Events
Annual Treaty Days Celebrations which are held in the last week of July.
Fall Annual Events
Annual Outdoor Trip for the School to Weaver Lake (Camping, Life Skills, Recreational Activities and a Survival Camp).
Winter Annual Events
Annual Winter Carnival – Sasquatch Days.
The Poplar River BHC Program is utilized for recreational activities. Activities are planned for children, youth and adults (male/female) in various recreational sports. The people who plan are health program workers and community members who want to be involved (volunteers). The Youth Drop-In Centre provides recreational activities such as pool games, shuffle board, card /board games, hockey game, etc every night of the week. There is a weight lifting program and other recreational activities held at the school gym.
There is currently one baseball diamond outside the school and one new diamond near the new band office. The arena is currently being renovated to include a skating rink. One outdoor skating rink was built this year near the Health Centre.
All recreational activities and annual events are held at the school gym or at the arena.
