Lands Management Plan

Map Gallery

The maps we are making available in our map gallery are found in our Asatiwisipe Aki Management Plan. The version of our lands management plan we have posted contains low-resolution images of all maps in the plan. However, we feel it is important to share the details of some of the maps of our traditional lands and share the ways that we value and use our lands with the global community. We are not currently posting detailed versions of all maps contained in our lands management plan because some depict sensitive or sacred information - the traditional knowledge of our Elders and the intellectual property of our people.

Maps will be updated over time and new maps will be added as a result of technical work that is ongoing.

All of our maps geographically / spatially represent the relationship that the Poplar River Anishinabek have with our traditional lands and waters, similar to the image below which was developed to show graphically the Poplar River Anishinabek vision - the basis of our lands management plan. (Design by Cornelius Bruce of Poplar River First Nation.)
